Music Through My eyes

World ! Wassup! 2:01 a.m second blog and whatever whatever [late blogging nigga type sh*t] but, you see, what I'm tryna hit ya with is what I've been seeing about the likes in music within the last decade or so how its changed us, well some of us. So Welcome to Music through Myeyes (spelled like that on purpose). First order of business, seeing as we talking about music let me give you an opinion from a artist/writer point of view: The music changes everyday, one day you listening to drake talking about who is Marvin, next day you listening to Marvin & Chardonnay, point being music is changing, topics are changing and interests in the topics are growing, sign of the times. I'm a 90's baby (woop woop and all lat) so I was accustomed to hearing the struggle and dreams and good vivid lyrics, i.e:
"One for the money
Two for pussy and foreign cars Three for Alize niggaz deceased or behind bars I rap divine Gods check the prognosis, is it real or showbiz? My window faces shootouts, drug overdoses" -memory lane. Nas
"chrome socks beamin, through my periphial i see ya schemin
stop dreamin',i leave ya body steamin
niggas is feenin, whats the meanin
i'm leanin on any nigga intervenin with the sound of my money machine-in" -Cant knock the hustle. Jay-Z
Classics right !? there's way more songs that are like this.

So as we do our little time travel we move into our talented rappers who followed footsteps throughout the years: We have our Kanye's of the world, The Wayne's of the world, The Games, The Big Sean's, etcetera etcetera the list goes on of rappers who are lyrical & talk about what they seen and/or been through and put their lyrics together cleverly, tell stories, all-around good.

And then we move away from the top of the list to the bottom to the ones who just got good beats and lines: The Soulja Boys, The Gucci Manes, Birdman [he was iight, probably, maybe], etcetera etcetera of just rappers who talk about their money, parties, F*cking, smoking, drinking, without giving you background. Look back at these artist and I guarantee that their singles (majority) had to do with exactly those things, no hesitation.

You're probably sitting thinking "but all rappers do that jay", [down-syndrome voice], this is correct, but look at big sean then look at soulja boy. When Big Sean came out we knew he was a Detroit boy who finally mad it, hence Finally Famous; now when soulja boy came out what did we know ? SHIT ! crank dat....excuse me sir, NO. So ask that question before you try to say who's better or who's worse, or try and chew my head off.

EVERYBODY IS TALENTED BUT NOT EVERYBODY IS RELEVANT.
